Freelance Work

About a month or so ago I started a freelance job for a children's music act from NYC. Each member of the band was a specific character, the main two are "Princess Katie & Racer Steve". At any rate, they hired me to turn them into cartoon characters and apply them to a CD design. I loved this project. They were fun to work for and made it a very enjoyable experience. The good news is that the work is still coming. I'm currently doing their website and it's all in Flash. Next will be a DVD. Cant wait for that one.

Below are a number of images, sketches, colored characters and the CD art. By the way, their music is really fun and I think kids will have a blast listening to Princess Katie & Racer Steve.

Online Challenges

I love online challenges. They're a great way to draw something you normally wouldn't. Plus it's a nice way to meet other artists that are just as passionate about their work as you are.

The following are a few sketches for some online challenges. The first is for one over at Ben Caldwell's forum. It was to draw something that deals with Fantasy like Lord of the Rings stuff. The second is for a challenge over at Drawer Geeks. Basically this one is to draw your version of the comic book character Sgt. Rock.

If I have time I'm going to try and color them.

Atari Memories

When I was a kid, Atari 2600 ruled. I remember playing for hours, games like tank, space invaders, asteroids, the list went on and on. My friends and I would sit so long that our legs would fall asleep and we dubbed the term "Atari Leg" I recall turning to my friend one day and saying something like, "these graphics are awesome! They'll never top this!" What the heck did I know?

At any rate one of my favorite games was Adventure. Basically you were a square looking for a golden pixel chalice in a pixel kingdom trying to avoid pixel dragons that wanted to eat you.

The following picture is for a challenge over at Ben Caldwell's forum.
